Quality of Service (QoS)
In today’s competitive wireless market, a critical aspect to reduce churn is by delivering superior quality of service. One of the challenges associated with delivering a high definition voice over LTE (VoLTE) service for carriers is to define the Quality of Service (QoS) parameters for the LTE network.
The fundamental shift for mobile network operators is moving the majority of the service traffic from legacy circuit switched networks to IP networks. Additionally, operators must properly define the correct QoS parameters on the complete bearer path, which in LTE is not a trivial task.
Breaking LTE into its component parts, it’s possible to see how big a task this really is: User Equipment (UE), Radio Access Network (RAN), Evolved Packet Core (EPC) and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) core. Each network section needs to be correctly optimized to ensure that the performance of the high definition voice call is achievable
SWI identifies the critical metrics to link churn, quality and potential revenue loss. Using measurements, analysis and KPIs to provide understanding of subscriber behavior, SWI is able to reveal the impact of QoS on churn and revenue. SWI engineers use three main methods of performance data collection: drive testing, OMC-reports, and IMSI trace/handset measurement reports. When necessary, SWI leverages our own software expertise to analyze specific project issues.
SWI QoS services help our clients to ensure customers continue receiving superior voice quality wherever they use your mobile network.
